What Is Considered a Slip & Fall Accident?

A slip and fall accident occurs when a person is injured due to a hazard on another person's property that is not readily apparent. These accidents are common in grocery stores, shopping malls, office buildings, and other places where there are likely to be wet floors, uneven flooring, or other conditions that could cause someone to slip and fall. For example, if you were shopping in a grocery store and you slipped on a spill of water or some other liquid without any signage around it, you may have a case for a slip and fall accident.

Slip and fall accidents can also occur on public streets and sidewalks when they are not properly maintained.

What Are My Rights If I Have Been Injured in a Slip & Fall Accident? 

If you have been injured in a slip and fall accident, you have the right to file a claim for compensation. However, you will have a limited time to file a claim. You will also need to prove that the property owner owed you a duty of care and that they failed to uphold that duty.
